Allegations against Lisa and Thomas Müller: A phantom debate – Sport

When the animal protection organization Peta speaks up about equestrian sports, trouble is usually imminent. Bayern star Thomas Müller and his wife, dressage rider Lisa Müller, have just been asked to stop breeding horses immediately. The ten-year-old stallion D’avie, two-time “World Champion of Young Horses” and of the finest dressage pedigree, is said to have been “forced” to mating and injured himself in the process, not life-threateningly, but at least in such a way that he has to take a break for a few weeks. “It’s cruel that so-called horse lovers force the animals in their care to have unnatural sex in order to make as much profit as possible from them,” complains PETA specialist Jana Hoger.
