German counterintelligence sometimes seems helpless, as shown by the leak from a telephone conference between officers about a “Taurus” delivery. All government communications must be reviewed.
Once again, German counterintelligence is not presenting a good picture – and it is time to recognize the seriousness of the situation. Starting with the Federal Intelligence Service, which underestimated the Russian attack plans on Ukraine, to the sometimes apathetic or helpless look at Russian disinformation campaigns in Germany, to the Bundeswehr switchboard that was recorded by Russian hackers. Russia is increasingly intensifying its communications war against Germany. And uses the captured information in the options Taurus-Delivery to Ukraine and the ability of the weapon system, for example to destroy the Crimean Bridge, are discussed as evidence that Germany has long been a party to the war. The tone is becoming increasingly harsher – many in Germany have hardly noticed it yet.
