In addition to Johann Lafer, Sat.1 also hired Alexander Kumptner for the afternoon program. This is what the new cooking shows will be like.

The Austrian top chef Alexander Kumptner (40) gets a new show on Sat.1. In “The Bargain Menu,” the 40-year-old is looking for “an inexpensive and tasty menu every day,” according to the station. A statement about the show goes on to say that it is about the candidates cooking “varied and tasty” foods on a limited budget.

Three-course menu for 20 euros

In “The Bargain Menu,” two teams compete against each other to cook the best three-course meal with a budget of 20 euros. Anyone who convinces Alexander Kumptner of his menu can take home prize money at the end, the broadcaster announced about the show. Award-winning chef Kumptner, who comes from Vienna, has already gained plenty of TV experience. He became known, among other things, for his appearances on “The Taste” and “Die Küchenschlacht”.

Johann Lafer will also soon be seen on Sat.1

There will be another new cooking show in Sat.1’s new afternoon program from early summer: After Kumptner and “The Bargain Menu”, star chef Johann Lafer (66, “Lafer! Lights! Tasty!”) will present in his show “Three Plates for Lafer” further cooking creations. In the show, the 66-year-old will give a specific motto, as the station has previously revealed. Three amateur chefs from three generations should each create “a culinary plate” – with their own ingredients and their personal interpretations of the motto.

Sat.1 station manager Marc Rasmus explains in the station’s announcement about the two shows: “In our new cooking shows in the afternoon, viewers will be culinary inspired by two true top chefs.” He also promises that there are lots of down-to-earth tips that everyone can incorporate into their everyday cooking routine.
