Headphones are a dime a dozen these days – even those that don’t require any cables despite being in-ear. It is still a rarity that they are available as a branded product from discounters. Aldi currently has such an offer: from April 27, the discounter’s online shop will be selling the Samsung Galaxy Buds live.

Galaxy Buds Live at Aldi: the headphones are good for that

Sure, a professional headphone becomes the called Price of 60 euros hardly expect anyone. The Samsung Buds with the addition “Live” are the entry-level model of the popular headphone series. However, this does not mean that these are pure savings models. Not only the look is based on the much more expensive Pro models. The Buds Live also have active noise suppression, also known as noise canceling or ANC.

However, this is also the biggest drawback compared to the top plugs: While the sound of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live is rated well by testers such as the Stiftung Warentest, the noise suppression cannot keep up. She is rather mediocre. According to product tests, the fit of the in-ear headphones, which are rather unusual in terms of their bean shape, could also be better. A consequence of this: The sound insulation is not the best, and something of what is heard can also be heard in the surrounding area. The full test You will find here (charges apply). In view of the price in the market comparison, both compromises are quite acceptable.

Galaxy Buds Live at Aldi: really a bargain?

Another question now is whether the Aldi offer is really a good one. And indeed, the bargain is smaller than you might think. According to the comparison platform Idealo, the 60 euros at the discounter are only a few euros below the average price in recent months. They have not been the lowest price for a long time: over the course of the last year, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live were even available for less than 45 euros several times.

Galaxy Buds Live: This alternative is cheaper – and better

If you don’t insist on Samsung, you should take a closer look at an alternative. In the current headphone test by Stiftung Warentest, for example, Hama Spirit Pure rated just as well as the Pro models of Samsung’s Galaxy Buds. And that despite the fact that Hama headphones can be bought online from just 40 euros.
