Aiwanger puts Söder under pressure – politics

Bavaria’s Deputy Prime Minister admits that he was in possession of the anti-Semitic leaflet, which his brother is said to have written. The CSU has so far been silent on the explanations, but internally there is rumbling.

In the debate about an anti-Semitic leaflet from the youth of Bavaria’s Deputy Prime Minister Hubert Aiwanger, Charlotte Knobloch, President of the Jewish Community in Munich and Upper Bavaria and Holocaust survivor, spoke up. “I am speechless and horrified by the pamphlet from Minister of State Aiwanger’s environment, which has now become known and which reminds me of the worst diatribes of the Nazi era,” she said on Sunday. “Even the suspicion that a top politician could be connected to this text is extremely dangerous,” said Knobloch, adding that the debate had “destroyed a lot of trust that now has to be painstakingly restored”.
