Airport: forklift driver rips snack machines from anchorage – Freising

The candy was stuck in the output chute. But the 34-year-old didn’t want to give up. “You’re not you when you’re hungry,” comments the airport police.

The incident reached the airport police somewhat belatedly, but inspired even the normally more sober officials there. “You’re not you when you’re hungry,” a well-known commercial is quoted in the police report – in fact, the 34-year-old forklift driver in question may not have been quite himself when he opened the snack machine at the airport at the end of June company with his forklift and jerked it off its feet.

The reason for this drastic measure was a chocolate stuck in the machine, which could not be freed in the usual way – until the 34-year-old pulled other strings, drove the tines of his forklift under the machine, lifted it and shook it. In fact, this rude approach led “to the desired success, since the chocolate fell out and was accessible to the 34-year-old,” as the police report goes on to say.

The man then turned the machine off again, but the operating company filed a criminal complaint because of unspecified damage. In the investigative proceedings, the forklift driver has so far admitted to lifting the machine, but not to any damage caused by it.
