A rejected application for a place at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) causes a stir. The university accuses the affected student of using artificial intelligence (AI) in his application essay for a master’s degree place for the winter semester of 2023/2024. Since the use of AI amounts to the assistance of third parties, it was excluded from the application process. The Munich Administrative Court rejected the student’s lawsuit against this decision in expedited proceedings.
