SPD, Greens and Left in Bremen have agreed to continue their coalition. The distribution of the nine future Senate departments is also certain.
In Bremen, the SPD, Greens and Left have agreed on a government alliance for the next four years. The coalition negotiations have been successfully completed, said SPD state manager Roland Pahl on Sunday.
According to information from buten un binnen, the SPD should continue to provide the President of the Senate and with him the cultural department. What is new is that the interior department previously managed by the SPD will be supplemented by the area of sport (previously the Greens). The SPD keeps the children’s and education department. In addition, the SPD will have a department for the three areas of social affairs (previously the Greens), labor (previously the Left) and justice (previously the SPD). In addition, the areas of construction, urban development and transport are moving from the Greens to a separate department within the SPD.
Greens lose weight significantly
For the Greens, there should be the finance department as before and a significantly smaller department for climate, environment and science (previously with the SPD). The left will receive business and ports (previously with the SPD) and, as before, the department for health, care, women, equality and consumer protection.
According to information from buten un, the coalition agreement is more than 250 pages long. According to this, Red-Green-Red wants to overcome the ecological crisis in particular, fight social inequality and strengthen the country’s economic development.
More loans possible?
In addition, after the summer break, it should be checked whether the “extraordinary emergency situation” continues. Under certain circumstances, this would make it possible to take out further loans as part of the debt brake.
The new coalition wants to present the coalition agreement to the public on Monday.
New names in conversation with the Greens
According to information from buten un binnen, the Greens are preparing a rather surprising personnel decision. In addition to sports functionary Björn Fecker (finance department), political scientist Katrin Moosdorf could become a senator. She has been at the head of the child protection association for years and will be responsible for climate and environmental protection in the future. The Weser-Kurier had first published this name.
