Agirc-Arrco supplementary pensions: 10% increase in pensions… are you one of the 700,000 retirees affected?

The 10% penalty, which was applied to part of the pensions of retirees affiliated to the Agirc-Arrco supplementary insurance, is removed from this Tuesday, April 2. Nearly 700,000 retirees are affected.

“700,000 retirees will no longer have a penalty,” announced François-Xavier Selleret, the general director of Agirc-Arrco, presenting the financial results of the complementary scheme. This penalty, called the “Solidarity Coefficient”, was a 10% discount applied since 2019 for a maximum of 3 years on compulsory supplementary pensions for private sector employees.

Who is concerned ?

The end of the penalty concerns employees who retire between 2021 and 2023 at the full rate age. Those who left at the start of 2021 or before, at full rate, have already paid their penalty. And those who left after December 1, 2023 are no longer subject to it. In any case, the retirees concerned “have been informed”. “We made the new amount of their allowance available on their personal space,” explained François-Xavier Selleret.

The penalty is not refunded

Agirc-Arrco emphasizes that “the sums deducted under this coefficient until April 1, 2024 will not be returned”. In other words, if the penalty has been applied for two years, it will no longer be applied, but it is impossible to claim reimbursement of the sums which were not paid during these two years.
