Agents in charge of the RSA attacked by a “political small group”

Agents from the Nord department, dedicated to supporting RSA recipients, were “verbally and for some physically assaulted” on their premises on Monday by a “political small group”, the department said on Tuesday.

“Yesterday afternoon, the agents of the Departmental House for Integration and Employment (MDIE) in Lille were verbally attacked, and for some physically, by a political and organized small group of about fifteen people. This event is unacceptable, ”denounces Christian Poiret (DVD), the president of the Nord department, in a press release. “The police forces took samples on the spot and a complaint will be filed tomorrow,” he adds.

The experimentation of the RSA against activity in question?

“This shameful act in no way undermines our desire to support Northerners who are beneficiaries of the RSA towards employment and dignity. This is the political priority of the mandate and I reaffirm it: the return to employment”, assures the president of the department on Twitter.

A little earlier, a police source had announced the irruption of about fifteen people from the ultra-left in the premises of the departmental council, which had caused damage, without further details. Asked about the identity and motivations of the attackers, the department had “no more information to release” immediately. Contacted, the North prefecture had “no information” to communicate either.

The Nord department is one of the candidate departments to experiment with the reform of the support of the RSA, which aims to condition its payment to 15 to 20 hours of activity per week. This experiment, announced in mid-August, caused a reaction in ultra-left circles, where we denounced in particular “a historic offensive against the recipients of social minima”, which “opens the way to the creation of a new type of ultra precarious employment. »
