In several cities in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, several thousand people have again protested against the policies of the state and federal government.
According to the police, around 4,500 women and men protested in Schwerin on Monday evening against the consequences of the energy crisis and high inflation. As in the previous week, the speeches and posters were directed primarily against the policy of the federal government, with which it is trying to overcome the energy crisis triggered by the Russian war of aggression. Among other things, participants called for the sanctions against Russia to be lifted and the Nord Stream 2 Baltic Sea pipeline to be put into operation.

In Neustrelitz, almost 500 demonstrators met in the city center. They also expressed their displeasure with the Corona rules and the energy crisis. Some told NDR 1 Radio MV that they felt their personal freedom was being restricted.

There were further demonstrations in Wismar with around 1,300 participants, according to the police. In Parchim there were 1,200, in Ludwigslust 750, in Neubrandenburg 670, in Güstrow 600, in Teterow 130 and in Bützow almost 30. A total of 1,000 people came to several events in Rostock. There was initially no information about the number of participants in places like Greifswald, Waren and Pasewalk. According to a police spokesman, the demonstrations continued peacefully and without incident well into the evening.
