Now the former national player already has a new job!

He becomes team manager of the new “Baller League”. Kruse joins the indoor small-field league of world champions Mats Hummels (35/league president) and Lukas Podolski (38/football president).

Kruse: “I remain loyal to football. Now in the Baller League! Football field, street and fast football – that’s what I celebrate!”

The new league starts on January 8th with twelve teams that meet each other on eleven match days (6 against 6). It will be broadcast by ProSiebenMAXX, among others.

In total, Kruse was a professional for 17 years. He last played for second division club Paderborn, where the former national player (14 international appearances/four goals) only went last summer after being left out of Wolfsburg a year ago. He started his career at Werder Bremen.

This was followed by stints at FC St. Pauli, Freiburg, Gladbach and Wolfsburg before returning to Bremen. He was later under contract with Turkish club Fenerbahçe before returning to Wolfsburg via Union.
