A tragedy took place this Wednesday in the pond of Saint-Symphorien, in Ille-et-Vilaine. An 18 year old young man who had gone swimming has disappeared. The significant rescue resources deployed made it possible to find him two hours after his disappearance. Despite attempts at resuscitation, the young man died.
They were about twenty, all gathered around the pond of Hédé, in Saint-Symphorien. It is in this small town located between Rennes and Saint-Malo that they had decided to meet after the baccalaureate exams passed this Wednesday morning. According to the firefighters of Ille-et-Vilaine, several young men decided to go swimming in the pond, while the temperature flirted with 30 degrees. Witnesses then saw one of the swimmers struggling before sinking. It was a little after 2 p.m.
A cardiac massage in vain
Alerted, the firefighters mobilized their divers, their dogs and a drone to fly over the area. The body of the young man was finally found around 4:45 p.m. by divers. Despite the cardiac massage performed, the young man died. He was 18 years old. The gendarmes and the Samu were also present at the scene of the accident.
