The story lasted a long time but it ended well. Seven years after her disappearance, a cat named Choupette is back home in Mayenne. According to France Bluethe animal had left after a fight between felines and had not been heard from since, despite the posters posted in the neighborhood.
But a few days ago, its owners Stéphanie and Matthieu received an incredible phone call from Savoie, more than 850 km from home. A shelter was able to contact them thanks to the chip worn by Choupette, found safe and sound by a volunteer.
It was a neighbor’s uncle, on vacation in the region, who accompanied the cat to his home in Parigné-sur-Braye on Sunday. Questioned by France Bleu, Stéphanie and Matthieu indicated that their pet recognized them “immediately”. And that after this long journey, Choupette was even “more cuddly and less fearful”.
