An entire school in shock. On Wednesday, the director of the Sacré-Cœur primary school in Noyal-Muzillac (Morbihan) spent his first night behind bars. Aged 29, he was indicted for sexual assault on minors and placed in pre-trial detention. He is accused of touching several children aged 7 to 10 during a school trip which took place last week.
It was the students who reported the facts to their parents on Sunday when they returned from their stay. In police custody, the director, who had been in office for two years at this private school, admitted the facts.
Two psychologists present on site
As soon as the affair was revealed, the diocesan management of Catholic education in Morbihan sent two psychologists and a project manager to the site. Meetings have already taken place with some parents and teachers, others are planned in the coming days. “With the parents of students at the school but also with the parents of this teacher’s former students,” specifies the diocesan direction of Catholic education in Morbihan in a press release.
“Through these meetings, we want to support students and parents in explaining the organization put in place to ensure support and listening to those who need it,” she continues. Entrusted to the Muzillac gendarmerie brigade, the investigation continues to try to identify other potential victims.
