After killing his wife – fugitive on Europol wanted list – Munich

After the violent death of a woman in Munich a year ago, her suspected husband is now on a European wanted list. The police have been publicly searching for the suspect Afghans, against whom there is an arrest warrant for manslaughter, since November 2020. This manhunt was now on the Europol website “Europe’s Most Wanted” with the most wanted criminals in Europe published, as the Munich police announced on Friday.

The case made headlines at the end of November 2020 – also because the police only found the woman’s body under a cot after searching the apartment in Altperlach several times. The investigators explained this at the time by stating that they had initially only looked into the apartment because of a missing person report. During such a control, the entire apartment should not be searched. Relatives had previously reported the mother of two children missing. The police assume that the 41-year-old at the time of the crime stabbed his 34-year-old wife. The alleged perpetrator first fled to Italy. The investigators suspect that the Afghan national traveled from there to his home country. The website “Europe’s Most Wanted”, launched in 2016, provides information on the most wanted criminals in the European Union.

The public can provide information on the website itself and remain anonymous if they wish. According to Europol, such information has proven valuable in the past and in some cases has already led to the arrest of people on the run, as the police announced.
