After IT chaos: How a Bafin controller should eliminate the Postbank debacle – Economy

Internal problems are certainly nothing new for Deutsche Bank. In the past 15 years, the largest German financial institution has slipped from one scandal to the next, and numerous changes in the board of directors are evidence of the hectic pace in Frankfurt’s twin towers. At the moment, however, nervousness is particularly high in the upper levels of the credit institution. The reason is the problems in the private customer business that have been going on for months, especially at Postbank, after the bank moved Postbank customers’ data to Deutsche Bank’s systems. But reports from customers complaining about technical problems at Postbank, lack of accessibility and even accounts that have been blocked for months continue to this day. And as it became known this week, the financial regulator Bafin is now sending a special representative to the bank to help eliminate the massive problems – an embarrassment for CEO Christian Sewing.
