After Charles’ cancer shock: Now Prince William speaks | Entertainment

After the announcement that King Charles (75) had cancer, the heir to the throne has now spoken out. According to British media, Prince William (41) said: “We really appreciate everyone’s warmth.”

The sentence came before a gala dinner in aid of London’s Air Ambulance, the air rescue company. The 41-year-old has been its patron for almost four years.

Two short videos show William getting out of a dark blue Range Rover in a tuxedo. Under a storm of flashes, straightening his belt, he walks towards people. Shake hands and thank you for your concern.

William said in his gala speech: “It’s fair to say that the last few weeks have had a more medical focus. That’s why I thought I’d come to an air rescue event to get away from it all.” The prince also mentioned his wife, Princess Kate (41), who has to rest for a long time due to abdominal surgery.

Charles recovers, William shakes hands

There was another distinguished visitor at the charity event, which raised the equivalent of more than a million euros last year: Hollywood megastar Tom Cruise (61) supported the fundraising gala. The Top Gun actor and the prince warmly shook hands and then complimented each other on their outfits.

King Charles is recovering in Sandringham, the sprawling country estate in the county of Norfolk (eastern England). The monarch was flown there by helicopter from Buckingham Palace.

On Monday, the royal family announced that the 75-year-old was ill. Charles was recently treated for an enlarged prostate. However, this should not be affected by cancer.

The palace said, “His Majesty will conduct state affairs and royal correspondence as usual.” However, on Wednesday William first had to step in for an appointment: at Windsor Castle, the Crown Prince honored subjects for charitable work. According to information from the Daily Mail, the heir to the throne – in a blue parade uniform – shook more than 50 hands.
