Anguish at the Alexandre Dumas nursery school in Volgelsheim, a small town in Haut-Rhin located east of Neuf-Brisach. Yesterday Monday, a dummy device leaving thought of a homemade bomb was found near the kindergarten.
This Tuesday morning, it is “a letter of threat which was discovered in front of the gate of the same school”, indicates in a press release the prefecture of Haut-Rhin. The content of the threats was not communicated.
“A situation carefully monitored”
“In accordance with the procedures in force, yesterday as this morning, a security perimeter of 100 meters was set up around the school” which has about fifty students, indicates the prefecture. “The children were accommodated in the elementary school of the municipality, located 700 meters from the nursery school. “The rapid arrival of the gendarmerie services on Tuesday morning” made it possible to rule out any danger. The security perimeter was lifted at noon, ”says the prefecture.
An investigation was launched by the Haut-Rhin gendarmerie under the authority of the Colmar prosecutor. The prefecture adds that the “situation is closely monitored by the prefect, who spoke with the internal security forces”, the rector of the academy and the academic director of the Haut-Rhin services.
A mobile security team from the rectorate went to the site “to provide support and support to the students, their parents and staff. This team will remain mobilized as much as necessary, ”continues the prefecture.
