  • The war enters its 150e day, and the Russians continue their bombardments relentlessly, especially in the Donetsk region. • Ukraine and Russia signed, on Friday in Istanbul, two identical but separate texts – at the request of the Ukrainians who refused to sign with the Russians – allowing grain export and agricultural products stuck in Black Sea ports and badly needed on world markets. This agreement, signed for four months renewable, provides in particular: inspections on departure and arrival in Turkey, secure shipping lanes and a counterpart for Russian cereals and fertilizers.

  • The United States announced on Friday a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine $270 million, including four new Himars precision artillery systems, 36,000 shells and 580 Phoenix Ghost kamikaze drones.
  • The Europeans adopted a new salvo of sanctions against Russia Friday, including a gold embargo and an updated blacklist. Unlike the six previous packages, this one does not contain a key and symbolic measure. The new sanctions are primarily intended to correct those that have already been imposed, in order to make them more effective and to prevent, as far as possible, their circumvention.
  • The NGO Human Rights Watch accused, on Friday, the Russian army of perpetrating torture, illegal detention and kidnapping of civilians in the southern part of Ukraine under its control.
