The lawyer and journalist Maximilian Steinbeis, born in Munich 53 years ago, has headed the renowned since 2009 Constitution blog. There, former constitutional judge Gertrud Lübbe-Wolff recently made the first proposal to have AfD politician Björn Höcke’s basic rights revoked. Under the heading “Thuringia Project”, Steinbeis is researching how vulnerable the democratic institutions are before the state elections in Thuringia – and is conducting discussions with constitutional lawyers, ministerial officials and members of parliament in Thuringia and at the federal level.
