In summer there is the “ice cream of the year”. And in the winter? Sure, the “Tea of the Year” from Kusmi Tea. You don’t really have to explain the brand anymore. The pretty tin cans are even used as decorations in the kitchen by people who cannot tell Earl Gray from Darjeeling. But of course the content is tough, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many fans who swear by flavors like “Sweet Love” or “Detox” and even prefer the company’s Advent calendar to one with chocolate. In any case, the new winter variant is called “Winter Delight” and is a rooibos mixture with cocoa, cinnamon and ginger, which – 2-in-1 – can also be drunk as a winter latte: let the tea steep for at least five minutes, then add the foamed milk and sprinkle with cinnamon and/or cocoa (100g for 15.40 euros, kusmitea.com).

If the traditional Danish company Carl Hansen & Son new furniture in its range, you can assume two things: firstly, whether it is a completely new design or from the archives, it is a Scandinavian classic and secondly, the workmanship is of the finest quality. Because the brand is one of the few that really still has its products manufactured in Denmark and employs hundreds of specialists in its workshop. The current new addition is an old acquaintance for many Danes: the “Foyer” series by the Danish architect Vilhelm Lauritzen was originally designed in the 1940s for the “Radiohuset” radio station in Copenhagen planned by Lauritzen and is still there today – of course in the Foyer. On the initiative of Carl Hansen & Son, the light-looking construction made of oak and leather has now gone into production for the first time – in addition to the armchair, the foyer ensemble also includes a bench and a sofa. The upholstery is not only available in leather, but also with a textile cover on request. The prices for the simple style icon start at around 5500 euros. carlhansen.com

Admission: Actually, we are a bit fed up with cooperations here. Prada x Adidas, Adidas x Gucci, Gucci x Balenciaga – not a week goes by without a new, more or less absurd pairing being thrown onto the market. But if the Belgian noble designer Dries Van Noten with the American surf and streetwear label Stussy together, it makes a lot of sense at first glance: people appreciate colour, clashing patterns and a certain openness to life over here and over there. The collection looks just as happy and casual: batik shirts, spacious sweatpants, sweatshirts and colorful parkas, everything can be combined with everything and of course looks best at a sundowner on the beach. Flea, bassist for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was hired for the campaign. Totally calibrated! (above driesvannoten.com and stussy.com)

Christmas means escapism, and the nice thing is that when December approaches, escaping everyday life, which everyone really needs right now, is officially allowed. Fashion designers are particularly good at creating a second, more beautiful world next to the real one, and this was particularly true of the dreamy Christian Dior. So if the French couture house is now teaming up with a second specialist in temporary escapism, the London department store Harrods, it can actually only end in a big indulgence. And that’s the action “The Fabulous World of Dior” also become, with the very practical side effect that you can perfectly present yourself as a brand in the generally enthusiastic pre-Christmas tone. 44 artistically arranged Advent shop windows, light installations on the facade, an exhibition with the brand’s boutiques, in miniature and made from gingerbread dough: Anyone traveling to London soon can see the show until January 3rd. The website also gives an impression for the mini-escape in between (dior.com).
