Andrea Berg and Ella Finally, Andy Borg and Roland Kaiser: These are Florian Silbereisen’s guests at the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights”.

Every year again: In 2023, Florian Silbereisen (42) will again be inviting you to the “Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights” on the eve of the first Advent. According to MDR, the first guests for the live broadcast on December 2nd at 8:15 p.m. on Erste have also been announced. A look at the guest list shows continuity from the previous year. Roland Kaiser (71), Maite Kelly (43), Andy Borg (63), Ella Finally (39) and DJ Ötzi (52) were already there in 2022.

There is also another selection of the crème de la crème of the pop world: Andrea Berg (57), Mireille Mathieu (77), Nana Mouskouri (89) and Michelle (51). Also there: presenter Barbara Schöneberger (49), fashion designer Guido Maria Kretschmer (58) and trumpeter Till Brönner (52).

In 2023, the arrival of the Peace Light from the grotto of Jesus’ birth in Bethlehem will again be one of the highlights of the show. Together with the stars of the show, Silbereisen passes on the light of peace until the titular 100,000 lights are reached.

Back at its original broadcast slot – with strong competition

In 2023, “The Advent Festival of 100,000 Lights” will run again in its original broadcast slot, on the Saturday before the first Sunday of Advent. There was an exception last year. Due to the World Cup in Qatar, the broadcast was postponed to the second weekend in Advent.

This year the “Advent Festival” is competing against a strong opponent in the ratings battle. Parallel to the live show on Erste, RTL is showing “Disney100 – The Big Anniversary Show”. Thomas Gottschalk (73) moderates the gala for the entertainment group’s 100th birthday.

In 2004, Florian Silbereisen presented the pre-Christmas hit party for the first time, then under the title “The Advent Festival of Folk Music”. With interruptions in 2006 and 2008 and from 2011 under its current name, the live show has become a popular TV tradition in the run-up to Christmas.
