STORY: A shot from the tranquilizer gun, then it was time to wait. For two days, this little red panda kept zoo keepers and authorities on their toes in Adelaide, Australia. Ravi escaped from the zoo on Friday and was only found in a tree at the nearby botanical park on Sunday. Zoo staff were unable to lure the seven-year-old red panda out of the tree with bamboo, so they were forced to use an anesthetic. After the drug took effect, zoo staff and helpers safely caught the falling Ravi in a cloth. Adelaide Zoo director Phil Ainsley said Ravi would recover from his escapade in the next few days and receive a health check. In addition, it will be investigated how the mammal managed to escape. All camera recordings will also be checked. If Ravi’s hideout isn’t discovered, he’ll be back in a tree before long.
