After 52 years on the throne, Queen Margrethe II will abdicate on Sunday. Her eldest son, Crown Prince Frederik, will take over as King Frederik X at the head of the Danish kingdom.

Nobility fans can Watch the handover of the Danish Queen Margrethe II to her son, the future King Frederik X, live on German television on Sunday.

The first will broadcast the ceremony from Copenhagen from 2:15 p.m. under the title “Frederik According to the information, anyone who misses the live broadcast can watch a summary report on NDR television in the evening from 10:50 p.m.

Margrethe surprisingly announced in her New Year’s speech that she wanted to abdicate after 52 years on the throne. On Sunday she will sign a declaration to this effect, after which her eldest son, Crown Prince Frederik, will take over as head of the Danish kingdom.
