A year ago, Jannik Schümann made the relationship with his friend public. Since then he has felt free and happy.

Actor Jannik Schümann (29, “Sisi”) has been feeling better since he came out in public last year. “Today I feel more free and I am very happy in every way,” he said in an interview with the magazine “Bunte”.

He made his relationship with his friend Felix public in December 2020 with a couple photo on Instagram, “because at some point it was clear to me that I wanted to do something for the community and that it is almost my duty to contribute something to a freer society.”

Schümann also supported the #ActOut Manifesto, an initiative by German actors who advocate greater visibility for the LGBTQI + community in the film and theater business. “I would like to see such a brave action in football,” said the 29-year-old to “Bunte”. “That would be a real sign, but apparently there is still too much pressure from associations or fans. We need an open society – across all professional groups. “

LGBTQI + stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, inter and queer people and the plus sign as a placeholder for other identities.
