Earthquake victims from Turkey and Syria can stay with relatives in Germany and enter the country unbureaucratically with visas. According to a media report, the Ministry of the Interior and the Federal Foreign Office have agreed on this.

Accordingly, Turkish or Syrian families in Germany should be able to bring their “close relatives from the disaster region to them without any bureaucracy, so that they can find shelter with us and receive medical treatment,” said Interior Minister Nancy Faeser.
Valid for three months
For this, regular visas with a validity of three months should be issued quickly: “We will make this possible together with the Federal Foreign Office.” “It’s about help in need,” Faeser told the newspaper.
On Friday, the Federal Foreign Office had not yet made a specific commitment, but promised quick solutions. Previously, several voices had called for those affected in Syria and Turkey to be able to flee to relatives in Germany at short notice and without bureaucracy.
The 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook the Turkish-Syrian border region on Monday. More than 25,000 fatalities were counted by Saturday.
