You can find them everywhere in Germany, they are associated with a good deed, with sustainability: old clothes containers. But tragic accidents happen again and again at these collection points, sometimes with fatal results. It is rare that people get stuck in the hatches and die, but it is no less tragic. The Federal Statistical Office does not count the cases, they only appear in the police reports.
