On the way to an operation, a police patrol was involved in an accident in Aschheim on Wednesday. According to the Munich Presidium, a 27-year-old officer was on his way to Feldkirchen with a colleague for an assault. When he turned right from state road 2082 onto federal road 471, the police car entered the oncoming lane and collided with the car of a 21-year-old. The police officer was taken to a hospital by ambulance for outpatient treatment. The 21-year-old was also slightly injured, but initially required no medical treatment. The passenger of the police vehicle was unharmed. Damage to the cars amounted to several tens of thousands of euros. The main road was completely closed for two hours to record the accident. The Munich traffic police took over the investigation. She also has to clarify to what extent the patrol crew made use of special rights during the mission trip.
