In a ten-part podcast series, singer Katy Perry will tell the life story of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor.
Katy Perry (37) starts with a podcast. In a ten-part series, the singer tells the exciting life story of Hollywood icon Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011). According to “Variety” It will also reveal “never-before-heard stories” about the legendary actress.
Stories from the Oscar-winner’s estate, House of Taylor, will be brought to life in ten episodes. These include the young actress’ struggle in a male-dominated film world, how a successful negotiation made her the highest-paid actress in the world and her love of jewelery and jewels. In addition, her activism around the topics of HIV and AIDS as well as alcohol and drug abuse will be addressed.
Podcast “Elizabeth the First” starts in spring
“Like most people, I was attracted to her glamour,” Katy Perry said in a statement. “In my own life, I find that I keep referring to her visually.”
The singer said she “always felt connected” to Taylor. “I even bathed in the same bathtub as her in ‘Cleopatra,'” she continues. “Her brave activism, her business moves and her uncompromising way of loving” Perry tries to emulate in her own life. “It is an honor to be able to share her story in this way,” emphasizes the singer.
“Elizabeth the First” is scheduled to launch on all major podcast platforms in late spring 2022.
