A8 near Brunnthal – car catches fire on the Autobahn – Munich district

A 43-year-old driver from Bad Wiessee was just able to save himself from his burning car on the A8 on Tuesday. The older type of vehicle caught fire at full speed at about 12.40 p.m. at the Sauerlach exit. When the driver noticed smoke was rising from the footwell on the passenger side, he drove his car onto the hard shoulder. Shortly afterwards it was on fire and burned out completely. The fire brigades from Hofolding, Brunnthal and Sauerlach could not do much more. The road surface was damaged over an area of ​​around six square meters. A technical defect is assumed to be the cause of the fire. The traffic was able to drive past the accident vehicle on the left and, according to the police, was hardly affected.
