A3 and A8: Accidents with trucks – whey and glue on the road – Bavaria

After the accident involving a whey truck on Sunday morning on the A3, the road between Wiesentheid and Geiselwind (Kitzingen district) had to be completely closed in both directions. The truck skidded in a construction area and overturned, police said. Up to 22,000 liters of whey had spilled onto the road. The salvage was particularly difficult and took a few hours, which was particularly unfavorable for the return trip on Sunday, said a police spokesman.

The truck driver had come to the right of the crash barrier in the construction site area for an unexplained reason. He then threw himself against the makeshift central barrier. The vehicle overturned and lay across the freeway. The truck driver sustained minor injuries in the accident. He touched another truck. According to the police, there are two other injured, one of them is the other truck driver.

Tire bursts on semitrailer on the A8

In Swabia, 1,000 liters of adhesive flowed from a trailer truck onto the A8 on Saturday and made parts of the road impassable. A tire of the vehicle burst, whereupon the 57-year-old driver braked hard, the police said.

He steered onto a hard shoulder of the autobahn near Burgau (Günzburg district). The charge was damaged and 1,000 liters of glue spilled onto the street. According to the police, the containers with the goods were not sufficiently secured.

The right lane was closed for more than four hours in the direction of Munich and there was property damage of several thousand euros. However, the semitrailer could be repaired on site and the 57-year-old continued his journey.
