A young man killed after a meeting on an escort-girl site

During the night from Monday to Tuesday, in Grande-Synthe, near Dunkirk, a seriously injured man was discovered unconscious on the public highway. According to the Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office, he died Tuesday evening as a result of his injuries. An investigation was opened for “organized gang murder” and a suspect was arrested.

The victim, a young man of 22, “showed several traces of blows, particularly on the face”, specifies the Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office to 20 Minutes. Despite being treated in the intensive care unit of Dunkirk hospital with a life-threatening prognosis, he did not survive.

Minor suspect in custody

The investigation opened on Tuesday by the prosecution into attempted intentional homicide by an organized gang was thus reclassified as “murder by an organized gang”. The investigations were entrusted to the “criminal brigade of the organized and specialized crime division” of the Northern judicial police.

“The first elements of this investigation indicate that the acts could have been committed by at least three individuals,” specifies the Dunkirk prosecutor, Charlotte Huet, adding that a “minor” suspect was arrested and placed in police custody.

According to our colleagues at Voice of the North, the victim fell into a trap set by his attackers when he had made an appointment with a prostitute via a dating site. Several other attacks using the same method have been reported in the area but the prosecution does not confirm that the facts are linked.
