A woman fakes childbirth to try to escape the police

The Côtes-d’Armor firefighters were called by the gendarmes on the night of Saturday September 30 to Sunday October 1 to help a woman who had explained to them that she was pregnant.

Checked by the police at the wheel of her car in Taden, not far from Dinan, the motorist assured the police that she was about to give birth, forcing the firefighters to come. When emergency services arrived on scene, they discovered that the woman was in no way pregnant but was simply trying to escape a blood alcohol test, reports France Bleu.

The story does not say whether the motorist was fined or not. The case served as a pretext for firefighters to remind people that when they are called for a false alarm, firefighters are not available to carry out other, more urgent missions.
