A tribute to the sailors lost at sea off the coast of Socoa, organized this Sunday in Arcachon

Friday December 22 at 1:46 a.m., three sailors on board the Cycnos, a fishing vessel registered in Arcachon, issued a distress signal near the Socoa dike. The firefighters intervened and were able to come to the aid of one of the sailors, aged 37, who was evacuated to Bayonne hospital. The search for the two other sailors, aged 58 and 30, continued until 1:39 p.m. on December 22, before being abandoned.

This Sunday, the city of Arcachon organize a tribute in memory of the fishermen Karamo and Mustapha Ndong at 11:30 a.m. under the Halle de l’Aiguillon. “At the end of this moment of contemplation, an auction will be organized for the benefit of the fishermen’s families,” specifies the municipality.
