The image published on X shows the trawler completely devoured by flames. During the night from Monday to Tuesday, the fishing vessel The Imagination was the victim of a violent fire off the coast of Barfleur (Manche) in the Bay of Seine, we learned from the maritime prefecture of the Manche and the North Sea. About fifteen meters long, the trawler then sank around 3 a.m. about twenty nautical miles (37 kilometers) from the coast.
Luckily, the three fishermen who were on board were able to escape by borrowing a life raft. They were recovered safely by a fishing boat which was in the area. A helicopter and a tugboat from the French Navy were mobilized during the intervention. The origin of the incident is currently unknown.
