A third minor indicted for murder

The investigation continues to make progress after the death, on the night of April 15 to 16, of Philippe Coopman, 22, in Grande-Synthe (North). This Wednesday, the Dunkirk public prosecutor’s office announced that a third minor, aged 15, was indicted for “ambush murder”. He was, in turn, placed in pre-trial detention.

Arrested on Monday, this young man was attacked last weekend, reports Dunkirk prosecutor Charlotte Huet. An investigation has also been opened for the “aggravated violence” he suffered, specifies Charlotte Huet.

The cousin of one of the two indicted

This third suspect also happens to be the cousin of one of the two minors indicted for murder last Friday. These two minors are aged 14 and 15. They admitted in police custody to having “arranged a meeting” in the middle of the night with Philippe Coopman in the parking lot of a small supermarket via “a dating website called Cocoland, posing as an underage girl”. explained the Dunkirk prosecutor.

Philippe Coopman died following several blows to the head. His funeral took place this Wednesday afternoon. Some 500 people were present.
