Shortly before midnight my phone rings: “This is Maryna. I’ve arrived in Munich.” It’s the eve of a “Green Corridors” performance at the Kammerspiele. A play I directed and starring Maryna Klimova. “The hotel doesn’t have a reservation in my name… and they say it’s all booked.” After 30 hours on the train, the hotel can’t find her name in the system, rented the room to visitors to a major concert that flooded Munich that day.
