This employee of the Nicollin company was very hot. Monday morning, while he was cleaning the streets of Vauvert (Gard), the sweeper he was driving suddenly caught fire. However, the man managed to escape from the vehicle at the last minute and was not injured.
“The driver, having smelled smoke coming from the floor, had the presence of mind to park and get out of the vehicle just before it completely burst into flames,” indicates the municipality on his Facebook page. It took firefighters around thirty minutes to put out the flames, preventing them from spreading to homes and cars in the area. The municipal police officers, for their part, secured the exit of classes for students from the Libération school, near the fire.
According to the municipality, the vehicle’s tires could not have withstood the effect of the heat. A recovery vehicle recovered the sweeper, which was completely charred.
