A special edition of the Comic Café in the Gasteig HP8. – Munich

What’s currently going on in the comic scene? What are the most exciting new releases at the moment? Questions like these have been answered for years in the Comic Café in the workshop cinema, where Heiner Lünstedt has been organizing events for 20 years. Since Lünstedt also directs the Munich Comic Festival, there is now a “Special Edition” of the café on April 23, for the first time in the Gasteig HP8. That’s where the comic festival will be held next June and Lünstedt wants to get in the mood for it with this special edition. For this he has invited various guests, who can then be seen again in June. This includes Asterix translator Gudrun Penndorf, who will receive the Peng Prize for her life’s work on June 10th.

In June there will be exhibitions by Munich cartoonist Rudi Hurzlmeier and comic artist Sabrina Schmatz. In the café, Hurzlmeier introduces his new cartoon volume and talks about previous activities such as “Cook on wheels”. Sabrina Schmatz reveals what she is currently working on. Author and journalist Timur Vermes reads from his book “Comic Seducer”. Chris Kloiber introduces his superhero “Tracht Man” and Caroline Hamann, who on June 11 will host the “Animation Festival Munich” organized shows her new animated short film “Criss Cross”.
