Joe Biden is an experienced foreign policy expert. He has supported Israel for decades, while also campaigning for justice in the Palestine problem and insisting on the two-state solution. But October 7 wiped away Biden’s old Middle East references. Because Israel has reacted in berserk fashion to the Hamas terrorist attack and started a war of retaliation that it will not win: almost 35,000 people in Gaza, two thirds of them civilians, are already dead. And Hamas continues to shoot. It knows that ever larger parts of the world public are behind it, which is supposedly supporting the cause of the Palestinians, but in reality is mobilizing an Islamist terrorist group.
