Shouts, agitation, security guards running down the stairs of the hemicycle. The plenary assembly of Occitanie Regional Council was abruptly interrupted at the very beginning of the afternoon by an attempt to intrude into the Toulouse hemicycle by activists belonging, if one can trust the banner they brought, to the extreme right-wing group Action French.
I strongly condemn the attempted violent intrusion by far-right activists which has just occurred at the Regional Council @Occitanie. I will of course file a complaint.

According to a tweet from the elected socialist Kamel Chibli, the intruders would have been eight in number. “The security service of the region reacted very quickly, calmly and coolly (…) No regional officer or elected official was injured during this incident which lasted a few minutes”, indicates the regional council. The police have been notified, but it is not known at this stage if any arrests have taken place.
A complaint will be filed
“Islamo-leftists, traitors to France”, indicates the banner which could not be deployed in the hemicycle. “I strongly condemn this violent action on the part of these far-right activists (…), reacted Carole Delga, the socialist president of Occitanie, who posted a video of the incident. I will file a complaint so that this does not happen again, she continues. Facing the far right, I repeat: I will not let go and will not give in to any pressure, wherever it comes from. “
