A young showman is in serious condition, after an accident at Luna Park, Cap d’Agde (Hérault), on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, report the department’s firefighters. The 20-year-old man was caught in the basket of a merry-go-round, in circumstances that have yet to be defined. The emergency services intervened around 1:30 am, in this very popular park, to take care of the victim urgently.
The young man was transported in serious condition to hospital by the Samu helicopter. The national police went to the scene last night. An investigation is underway.
It was in this same park that a 17-year-old boy died, on the night of August 5 to 6, in a merry-go-round accident. A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured. The day after the tragedy, a petition was launched on the Change.org platform, asking the public authorities to agree to reinforce security in thrill rides. It was put online by François Rivière, the president of Usap, the rugby club of Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), himself the victim of a serious carousel accident in 2015, which plunged him into the coma for three weeks.
