A schoolboy attacks a teacher over a cell phone

It all started after his math teacher tried to confiscate his cell phone in class. A 14-year-old schoolboy was arrested on Tuesday in Cholet (Maine-et-Loire) for violence and insults committed against two teachers, the Angers prosecutor’s office announced on Wednesday.

The teenager, “described as causing difficulties”, had initially refused to give his phone to his teacher, who had caught him handling it, explains the Angers public prosecutor Eric Bouillard in a communicated.

After passing through the office of the director of Clemenceau college, the student tried to return to class to collect his belongings, “to which the teacher, assisted by another teacher and administrative staff, tried to oppose,” continues the magistrate.

Summoned before the juvenile judge

“The minor was belted and in the scene, pushed a teacher, kicked him and tried to deliver other blows,” explains the prosecutor. “Contrary to what may have been indicated, no death threats were reported by the victims,” underlines Eric Bouillard. “Similarly, no religious references were made.” According to a police source cited by TF1, the teenager threatened to kill the professor by swearing on the Koran, which the prosecutor denies.

The schoolboy, already excluded from two establishments, was to appear shortly before a disciplinary council. Released, he will be summoned before a children’s judge for contempt of persons entrusted with a public service mission and violence in a school establishment, indicates the prosecutor.
