The new depression which followed storm Ciarán last night mainly affected the Aquitaine coast (Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques). In the Landes, 155 km/h was recorded in Biscarrosse overnight, according to Météo France. Winds of 90 to 110 km/h were also recorded inland.
The Sdis des Landes teams “were mobilized for around fifty interventions just like the soldiers of the national gendarmerie” indicated this Friday morning the prefecture. Two accidents were recorded causing minor injuries who were treated. Some 8,000 homes are also without electricity in the department. “Enedis teams are working to restore the network during the day,” specifies the prefecture.
