After the large demonstration on Sunday, the city of Munich wants to strengthen the fight against right-wing extremism and the AfD and anchor it even more broadly in politics and society. Mayor Dieter Reiter (SPD) will invite representatives from parties, religious communities, clubs and youth organizations as well as from culture, science and companies to an initial dialogue in the town hall. “The aim of this exchange is to capture the defensive mood, to bring civil society and politics together and to carry forward the great civil society commitment that was shown in the impressive participation of over 200,000 people,” explained Reiter in a statement.
