A new aquatic center will open in 2025

We can call it a sea serpent. For more than twenty years we have been talking about the construction of an intercommunal swimming pool north of Rennes. After numerous upheavals, abandonments or defections, the project has now been on track since December 2021. Called Aqua Ouest, this aquatic center should see the light of day in early 2025 on the edge of the Rive Ouest commercial area in Pacé, west of the Breton capital.

Six municipalities (Pacé, Saint-Gilles, Montgermont, Le Rheu, La Chapelle-Thouarault and L’Hermitage) will participate financially, alongside the region and the county council, in the construction of this 4,000 m² facility, the envelope of which is close to the 11 million euros.

Water games and balneotherapy

More modest than expected, this intercommunal swimming pool will have a 25-metre pool with five swimming lanes, a 150 m² leisure pool, a water games area with paddling pool and slide, a balneotherapy area and a vegetable solarium outside.

Its construction has been entrusted to the architectural firm Dubuisson Architecture with the first pickaxes expected in the coming days.
