A minute of silence in tribute on all rugby fields this weekend

A minute of silence will be observed in tribute to Thomas, a 16-year-old high school student killed on the sidelines of a village festival in the Drôme on the night of Saturday to Sunday, during all the meetings of the weekend, announced this Friday the French Rugby Federation. The FFR salutes in a press release the memory of this young boy passionate about rugby who played in the RC Romans-Péage club and whose funeral took place this Friday in Saint-Donat-sur-l’Herbasse in the Drôme.

FFR president Florian Grill “also made personal contact with club president Thomas to offer (his) full support,” the statement added.

The National Rugby League also sent on Twitter “its most sincere condolences to the family, the club and those close to Thomas, a rugby player and passionate about our sport” and announced that a tribute would be paid to Thomas “on all occasions. Top 14 grounds” this weekend.
