A man breaks into a mayor’s house to check that he doesn’t have power

Like many areas in Brittany, the town of Plœuc-l’Hermitage in Côtes-d’Armor was shaken during the passage of storm Ciaran during the night from Wednesday to Thursday. A large majority of homes found themselves without power for several days. A situation from which Mayor Thibaut Guignard did not escape.

But in the town, a resident was convinced that the elected official was privileged and he therefore entered the latter’s home on Thursday evening to check that the electricity had not returned. “I learned that an individual, unhappy at waiting for the electricity to return, entered my home in my absence to ensure that I did not have power before the others in my capacity as mayor”, reports the Breton mayor on X, announcing that he is going to file a complaint.

Six days after the passage of Ciaran, 55,300 customers still remain without electricity in Brittany, according to figures communicated this Tuesday morning by Enedis.
