Numerous trafficking and misappropriation of vaccination certificates have been observed in France. In this context, a recent journalistic investigation demonstrated that the anti-Covid-19 vaccination certificates issued by the Saint Vincent Hospital Group vaccination center in Strasbourg have been the subject of fraudulent reproductions. In a press release, the group indicates that it is filing a complaint.
At the end of June, more than 60,000 vaccines had been delivered to the group’s vaccination centers, namely the Sainte-Barbe clinics in Strasbourg, Saint Luc in Schirmeck and their branch in La Wantzenau. “At the end of each vaccination, a nominative certificate is issued to the patient, indicating the hospital. This form has particular characteristics that are difficult to reproduce, including a watermark (marking visible in transparency), allowing immediate recognition of its original character, ”explains the hospital.
A security device which thus makes it possible to “easily detect false certificates produced by counterfeiters, but also and above all the users and receivers of such documents”, warns the Saint-Vincent group.
Coarse copies and inconsistencies
“The copies discovered are thus very crude, numerous technical inconsistencies having been pointed out to the investigators, allowing the staff of the GHSV vaccination centers to be dismissed”, underlines the hospital.
The Group indicates that it is collaborating with the Regional Health Agency, the Bas-Rhin prefecture and the police services, including the border police, in order to put an end to these embezzlements as quickly as possible, to apprehend the perpetrators, the receivers and the fraud users.
